Google Pixel 6 is the first Pixel launch I’ve been interested in since the Pixel 3
When Google Pixel 3 was launched, it was still only a few months old, in my technology writing career, that is, not from birth, although it feels so long ago that it could have been several decades.
It was one of the first smart phone releases I covered, in a couple of frantic weeks between the iPhone XS and Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is released, back when I was still asking questions, like ‘What is a megapixel’? ‘Why are screens measured in inches, but the dimensions in millimeters’, and ‘how the wireless load really works’ (although I’m not sure of having the answers to the last two).
Google Pixel 3 stressed most of all its contemporaries. His image Ai Smarts, elegant design and android stock design it turned it into the headset that most wanted all the launches of the late 2018. It had an air of prestige about it, and I was surprised when I learned that Google was not really one of the Big names in the world world.
Personally, the subsequent releases of Google Pixel’s phone have not inspired a lot of interest. The pixel to telephones has been fine, but, in the UK, where I live, they lacked the competitive advantage to win them more than a passing look. The pixel 5 suffered the same, and the pixel 4 seems to have been erased from human memory, judging by the number of people who still talk about it.
But the pixel winds have changed late, and Google Pixel 6 is doing something that I thought impossible, is actually piching my interest in a Google phone once again.
A mockery, please
This time, Google, Google has not presented the pixel 6 with the technique of “press release volume” that is used before, nor at a launch event. In fact, the company has mocked the phone in a couple of ways, but an adequate release has so far stopped.
This has created a mystery air around the phone. We know some specifications but not others; We know how the back of the device looks like, but not the front; We know some of the specifications of the camera, but not the full image. Google has given us enough information to let us want more.
However, this is not like Oneplus’s approach, where the company spends a few weeks before a technology release slowly launches the information about the device. For those revelations, we know that we will be information about drip feeding on the device in question, and occur with the regularity of watches, so there is no novelty for them.
With regard to Google Pixel 6, we have been in the dark exactly when we listen more on pixel devices, or if we will listen something more ahead of a launch.
This brings me back to my experience with Pixel 3, when I was pretty new at Tech and Thones. I had some knowledge about parts of the device, but I wanted to learn more. I understood the Hardware of the camera, but not how the software optimized the images, for example, which made it an intriguing device.
An exciting device
Of course, part of the attractiveness of Google Pixel 6 is not only the air of the mystery that surrounds it, but the feeling that it is the first genuinely exciting device of the brand in a few years.
Unlike recent pixel phones, it feels like a reinvention. It is not a response to other devices, with a chipset made of Google, a chamber matrix and a distinctive design, all helping to stand out among the hordes of other smartphones that enter the market.
And yes, Google has tried the “reinvention” before, with the pixel 4 that fell the fingerprint sensor to completely rely on facial recognition. However, that phone ended up being possibly the most malignant phone of the brand as a result of various deficiencies. I’m talking about a good reinvention, it’s not bad.
The Tech News World has been buzzing with Word of The Google Pixel 6 from the presentation of initial jokes, which shows a widespread curiosity about the new pixel telephones. And, having on the same encouragement intrigue on me that I felt for the pixel 3, I’m certainly going to tune into the launch (even my work).
