LG Real Folding Window display cover promises to make creases disappear

The launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 have once again lit up the discussion about folded devices. While the Folding Phone of the Samsung’s third genes can be said to have a screen that is more durable this time, they are still victims of one of the biggest weaknesses of such a folding display. Maybe it’s been a long time before we reached the ideal glass that can be bent, but LG Chem, Business Chemistry LG, claimed to have a solution that would make more than the past.

Like an ordinary smartphone, the folding device has a screen consisting of a different layer. In the context of a foldable display, the most important part next to the flexible panel itself is a cover display or “window cover” above which protects sensitive pixels from the panel. For this year’s Samsung folding device, the material is a new ultra-thin glass that promises 80% durability better than the Galaxy Z folding 2 years ago.

LG, however, serves the “real folding window” material that claims better. The biggest claim for fame, at least according to LG, is violence such as glasses combined with flexibility such as plastic. This produces does not have a fold, one of the biggest problems with a fold screen, without leading cracks which are usually related to flexible glass.

LG Chem is very confident about the coverage of the display covering that can be folded so that it claims may not need to even be for polyethylene, the extralature or pet film on it. This plastic film is used to protect ultra-thin glass but produce a softer texture than plain glass on conventional smartphones. While the Galaxy Z Fold 3 has increased the layer, it is still easily scratched by sharp nails.

While the “real folding window” lg sounds promising, the big question is whether there will be producers who want to bet on new technology. With LG withdrawals from cellular races, Samsung and TCl seem to be the biggest name on the niche display market. Of course, LG does have customers for its traditional OLED and LCD panels, including Google, which can be very well used this cover display for future pixel folds.
